LOCAL STADIUMS:

chase field

HOME TO THE ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS (MLB)

Chase Field, formerly Bank One Ballpark, is a retractable roof stadium in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona. It is the home of Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks. It opened in 1998, the year the Diamondbacks debuted as an expansion team. Chase Field was the first stadium built in the United States with a retractable roof over a natural-grass playing surface.

The park was built during a wave of new, baseball-only parks in the 1990s. Although nearly all of these parks were open-air, it was taken for granted that a domed stadium was a must for a major-league team to be a viable venture in the Phoenix area. Phoenix is by far the hottest major city in North America; the average high temperature during baseball's regular season is 99.1 °F (37.3 °C), and game-time temperatures well above 100 °F (38 °C) are very common during the summer.

The park's foul territory is somewhat larger than is the case for most ballparks built in the 1990s. With 80% of the seats in foul territory, the upper deck is one of the highest in the majors. The park's suites are tucked far under the third deck, which keeps the upper deck closer to the action, with the exception of their Dugout Suites which sit next to the home and visitor's dugouts.

Phoenix Rising FC Soccer Complex at Wild Horse Pass

HOME TO PHOENIX RISING FC (USL)

Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex at Wild Horse Pass is a soccer complex including the Wild Horse Pass Stadium, a soccer-specific stadium in Chandler, Arizona. It is the home of Phoenix Rising FC of the USL Championship. The stadium was completed before the start of the 2021 USL Championship season. The first game at the complex was held on April 30, 2021, when Rising defeated San Diego Loyal SC 4–1.

The stadium was built on land in the Gila River Indian Community. The complex has 10,000 seats with a video board, press box, improved sound, a family-friendly general admission section, ticket office, locker rooms, two practice fields, and a on-site administrative office

FOOTPRINT CENTER

HOME TO THE PHOENIX SUNS (NBA), MERCURY (WNBA), AND ARIZONA RATTLERS (INDOOR FOOTBALL)

Recently renamed to Footprint Center in 2021, the sports of basketball, arena football, concerts, ice shows and other events such as wrestling are held in the arena.

Construction began on August 1, 1990, as former Suns owner Jerry Colangelo envisioned a need for a new arena to be built in Phoenix to replace Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum. About 27 months later, Footprint Center was officially inaugurated with the Suns' 1992–1993 season opening 111–105 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on November 7, 1992. Simultaneously, it also was Charles Barkley's first regular season game as a Sun.

The capacities are 17,071 for basketball, 16,210 for ice hockey and indoor football, 17,716 for in-the-round concerts, 12,565 for end stage concerts, and 4,379 for theater events.

Its most common nickname is "The Purple Palace", though during the Rattlers' season it is known as "The Snake Pit"

The arena has seen its share of basketball moments. Less than a year after its opening, it hosted 3 championship games of the 1993 NBA Finals between the Suns and the Chicago Bulls. The Mercury hosted WNBA Finals games in 1998, 2007 and 2009. The 1995 NBA All-Star Game, 2000 WNBA All-Star Game and 2009 NBA All-Star Game. were played at the arena.

I can honestly say this was a life changing experience and a great opportunity for young professionals that are looking to be successful in the sport industry. The best advice I could give is if you are looking to get into a program like this, take the opportunity, bet on yourself, and don’t be scared to get out there in the real world and make it happen.
