The International Sport Business (ISB) Program is excited to offer numerous scholarships to deserving future sport business superstars. All hopeful participants are encouraged to apply. Scholarships will be rewarded based upon the criteria that is set forth for each award. Scholarship recipients must be accepted in the program to be eligible.

The Bill and Sue Monaghan Scholarship Fund | $3,000

Application Deadline: Application Closed

Created by Hilda and Fred Patton of Phoenix Sports Technology in loving memory of their parents, Bill and Sue Monaghan, who were both educators and always believed in the importance of giving back to those who need help. This $3,000 scholarship will be awarded each calendar year to one (1) deserving individual who is passionate to become a future leader in the sport industry.  To apply, candidates will submit a 500 word essay describing how they have exemplified what it means to help others, volunteer in their community, and have made an impact in some way that makes the world a better place. 


The Outnumbered Podcast Scholarship | $500

Application Deadline: Application Closed

Founded by Hollis Brown and Kelli Buhrdorf, the Outnumbered platform was started to diversify the sports industry job pool and help women gain a competitive edge when pursuing professional careers in the industry. This $500 scholarship will be awarded to deserving individuals who are passionate to become future leaders in the sport industry. To apply, candidates must be recognized medically and legally as a female in the United States and submit a 400 word essay on either of the topics (questions) below:

Question 1: Identify a woman in sports who has made a significant impact on your life or career journey.
Question 2: What do you think the future of sports looks like and how do you hope to help the industry evolve?


LEgacy scholarship fund | $500

The Living Sport Alumni Legacy Scholarship was created by, funded by, and awarded by Living Sport Alumni. The scholarship is awarded to one (1) candidate that has demonstrated hard work, sacrifice for the betterment of their career, and how they will add value to the Living Sport Network. This scholarship will be awarded to the most deserving individual decided by the Legacy Scholarship Board. To apply, submit a 500 or less word essay describing how the candidate exemplifies the previously mentioned attributes.


the Founder's scholarship | $500

Application Deadline: Application Closed

The Founder's Scholarship is awarded to one (1) candidate each calendar year that has demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit by creating and/or starting a sport-related initiative in his/her community, or for his/her team or college. This candidate exemplifies creating thinking, risk taking, and the courage it takes to create something new. This $500 scholarship will be awarded to a young business leader who strives for excellence and has had a significant accomplishment in the sport industry. To apply, candidates will submit a 400 word essay describing how their entrepreneurial spirit.


LIVING SPORT ALUMNI JUNIOR MENTOR SCHOLARSHIP* | $3,000

Application Deadline: Rolling Applications

This scholarship is awarded to a Living Sport alumni who has proven to excel in leadership and has shown loyalty and dedication in building a community built on teamwork, comradery, and creating positive change.

Applicants should be in a position on one of the following:

  • Currently hold a full-time position in the sport industry (minimum of 2 years)

  • Hold an executive position on the Living Sport Alumni Board

This scholarship is an opportunity to serve as a peer leader on one of our domestic or international programs, while mentoring and leading discussions and presentations for aspiring sport business professionals. This scholarship will be awarded toward our full 10-day program, Mini-Programs are excluded.

LIVING SPORT ALUMNI ASSISTANT SCHOLARSHIP* | $800

Application Deadline: Rolling Applications

This scholarship is awarded to a Living Sport alumni who has professional-level skills in the areas most needed to best operate our on-site programs.

Applicants should have experience in one of the following:

Logistics: Event Execution/Planning, Group Management, Leadership

Media: Content Creation, Content Editing, Photography/Videography, MC/Broadcasting

This scholarship is an opportunity to serve as a peer leader on one of our domestic mini-programs, while also providing a key role in the operations of the program.

the INNOVATION scholarship* | $2,000

Application Deadline to Enter Your Team: Application Closed

The Innovation Scholarship was created in partnership with the Pennsylvania Sports Business Conference’s (PASBC) Case Study Competition and is awarded to the four-person team with the highest overall score. The winning team will receive a $2,000 scholarship ($500 per person) to travel with a 2023 or a 2024 Living Sport International Sport Business Program.

*The Innovation Scholarship is only available to new applicants.

The PASBC Case Study Competition offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students in the sport management field to compete in a fast-paced and challenging sport business scenario. Through the competition, teams of students will showcase their skill sets and knowledge obtained in their core sport management curricula, earn practical learning experience, and partake in an excellent networking opportunity. All undergraduate and graduate student teams are invited to register. The 2020 competition will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
